A Traveller’s Tales

I have always been connected with church, right from a tiny baby. But although I went to church regularly every week without fail and was an active member, helping out in various capacities, I never really understood who God was. I said my prayers but they were the prayers of my childhood. I taught my girls the same prayers and took them along to church as well. Then my husband decided it was a waste of time to go to church and shortly afterwards our marriage broke up. I was devastated and asked the question why? Why has this happened to me? I was then invited to go on an Alpha course.

And there I found my best friend, Jesus. Eleven years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and my best friend was ever there close beside me. We grew closer each day all the time I was ill. I had a dream, and that dream was to travel around the world and visit friends and relations and touch base with them, perhaps for the last time. My surgeons encouraged me go travelling for six months.

So in February 2003 I set off on my round the world trip. And this book was born, first of all as Travel Logs broadcast for AWR Christian Radio Station , then by the encouragement of my producer at AWR, Ray Allen, I have turned some of the travel logs into a thirty day devotional. This project has resulted in a lot of editing in order to get the content suitable for the format of a devotional but the essence of the message in each one is the same as when it was first written.

This book is called A Traveller's Tales. I found that God revealed himself in little things and if I am in tune with him his message is revealed.
